Parent Teacher Conference was held on March 31, 2009. Over 60 parents/guardians came and visited with 8C teachers! We appreciate your participation in your child’s education. We hope to have this much support as we enter the last phase of your child’s middle school experience.

Hey Jaguars!!
Welcome to the 2nd half of your 8th grade year… the last year of your middle school career! To make this last year a succes, we need everyone’s cooperation and assistance.
We are having meetings every Wednesday during lunch in Room 10. During these meetings we are discussing fund-raising ideas, T-shirt designs, the 8th Grade Ball, and many other topics you might want to have a say in.
Important Dates:
January 31, 2009 - JAGUAR CARWASH, 9am-1pm at UMS
February 13, 2009 - VALENTINE’s Balloon Grams distribution, $6 each
April 25, 2009 - 8th Grade Ball, 5:30pm-10:30pm at ONWARD BEACH RESORT, Oasis Ballroom

Only a few more days until winter break so here’s a few reminders…
- December 18/19 – NJHS Photobooth.. Room 16 during lunch. For $1.00/person/shot, your picture will be emailed to you. For $2.00 it will be professionally printed.
- December 19 – UOG Fieldtrip.. Forms are due Thursday, so please submit them to your homebase teachers ASAP with your bus money.
- December 20 – Trash-A-Thon.. Meet at Pavilion J by 8am and we’ll start the cleanup at Marriott Hotel. The cleanup activity ends at 9:30 so if you’re not staying for the picnic have your parents pick you up by 10am.
- December 22 – Math Exam.. Review on Thursday.
- December 23 – Activity Day.. Dress down. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” Dance sponsored by the Yearbook Club for $2 a ticket. Santa might pay a visit to all the good girls and boys!!

- We will be selling popcorn, rosquette various snacks and drinks

- JAGUAR FAMILY Trash-A-Thon and Picnic
- December 20, 2008, Ypao Beach Park, 8am
- Clean-up will begin at 8am at the Marriott Hotel beach and end at the Hilton Hotel beach. We are in need of man-power, trashbags, gloves, and trucks to transport trash to the dumpsters. We will also need a canopy and chairs for the picnic.
- Each student is asked to raise at least $10. Pledge cards have been distributed and are due on December 17, 2008.
- The family picnic and awards will commence after the cleanup a the Ypao Beach Pavilion J. Please have your child sign up for what he/she can contribute.
- Parent permission / liability forms will be issued.
- We higly encourage family members to participate in this worthwhile community service project and fund-raiser.
- WINTER BREAK – Dec. 24 – Jan. 5
- EXAM MAKE-UP DAYS - Jan. 6-9
- CARWASH – Jan. 17, UMS, 9am-3pm
- Donations are encouraged. (Carwash soap, sponges, hoses, chamois (shammies), tent)
The funds raised from all 8C Team Jaguars activities will go towards the 8th Grade Promotional Ceremony, 8C Jaguars End of the Year Awards Banquet, and upcoming field-trips (bus fees).

Hey Jaguars!
Starting December 2, 2008, Pre-Algebra tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 3:45-5:00pm. If you need help on any of the homework or classwork assignments during the week, those days will be the perfect days for you to come in.

The holidays are approaching and Untalan Middle School is ready for some Christmas cheer.
On December 10, 2008, 5:30pm, we will be having a “Jingle Jungle Christmas” in the 8th grade courtyard. Clubs and organizations will be selling various items and games, and our students are putting on a talent showcase.
Our team is responsible for decorating the stage so we are asking for Christmas decorations donations. We are accepting garlands, Christmas lights, ornaments and other decos you can spare for this fun, exciting and worthwhile event.
